Too good to be true…?

So you’ve played a Purely Creative scratchcard and you’re entitled to claim a holiday award.  What’s your first reaction?  Do you whoop with joy and dig out your passport and flip flops, or do you raise one eyebrow (cleverly) and think, ‘Yeah, right, so where’s the catch?’

The Purely Creative team has worked hard to make sure our travel awards are totally brilliant so we’d like to think you’d be celebrating at the prospect of a fabulous free holiday in a gorgeous location. But to be absolutely sure we thought we’d conduct a little survey.  We contacted thousands of people who’d claimed a European Vacations holiday award on a Purely Creative scratchcard and asked them a few simple questions – such as “How did you feel the first time you found out you were entitled to claim a holiday?”  It hurts to admit this, but over 90% of respondents said they didn’t believe it was a genuine offer.  They were ‘suspicious, cynical, wary, sceptical, apprehensive, dubious…’ Which is really sad.  But then we asked, “How did you feel after you’d taken the holiday?”  And the answers really cheered us up!  Over 98% of holiday award recipients said the holiday was far better than they had expected. They were ‘amazed that it turned out to be true’, ‘so glad to have played’ and the holiday was ‘beautiful.. wonderful.. excellent… worthwhile… beyond all expectations.’

So if you’re entitled to claim a Purely Creative holiday but you’re worried it sounds too good to be true – you’re not alone. Take a quick look at the feedback below – then dig out that passport and prepare for a genuine Purely Creative holiday to remember!!

‘I’d never answered any [scratchcard] promotions before. I was quite worried at first. Friends and family were sure it was a con. Fantastic offer – I would, and have, recommended [Purely Creative scratchcards] to friends and family. The [Italian Highlights award] was excellent, went to places I never thought I would see. There were no worst aspects! We had a few rushed days but only because we were to see so many places. [Memorable experiences were] just being in places – St Peter’s Square in Rome, Venice, Florence. I had only ever seen pictures of these places, and now I have actually been there – dream!!! Very, very good service. I am not sure how it could be improved – you got exactly what was offered, a taste of different places. ‘I had absolutely no experience with Purely Creative scratchcards. I did not know what to expect, so everything was a very pleasant surprise! I certainly will recommend. ‘Sceptical [before taking part in the scratchcard]! – suspicious about the claim to be ‘winning’ something for nothing. [Participating was] good. Despite my apprehension for reasons noted above, I felt confident that I could ‘pull out’ at any time without financial loss. In the event, my fears proved unfounded. The only charges made were both optional and reasonable value for money. [Purely Creative scratchcards are] excellent, I would certainly (and indeed have!) recommended them to friends. [Italian and Austrian Highlights awards were] better [than expected]. We were prepared to put up with inferior provision (transport, accommodation, food etc.) in view of the cheapness of the holiday – all unfounded! No single incident stands out above others. Both holidays were excellent and comparable to what other tour operators provide at significant cost. ‘Wasn’t too sure that the prizes on offer [on the scratchcard] were not a “scam”. Being a competition addict I took a chance, and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. They were really super holidays, well organised.  Playing the promotion was fun and costless. So what if you didn’t win? But inevitably you did!! I have great faith now in the promotions, and when completed it is so easy to claim an award. I’ve given several friends unwanted scratchcards, but don’t know whether or not they’ve made use of them. The accompanying friends I’ve taken with me when I’ve accepted a holiday have all said what a marvellous time they had. Most holidays far exceed expectations. Been to Spain, Tunisia, Turkey (and soon to be Italy in July 2010). The most memorable moment of my trip to Turkey was the fact that ‘Turkish Night’ fell on my friend’s birthday last year and she thought it had been organised especially for her!! We had a front row table and she was presented with a special cocktail by the courier. Her face was a picture of delight!  The level of service is top class! The drivers give good smooth trips, and go out of their way to show special sights on the journeys and the couriers go beyond the call of duty to be helpful – ending up by almost being friends even on the first day. Nothing is too much trouble.  A friend and I went on the cruise and stay to Spain in February and it was marvellous, especially the sailing there and back. The sea was rough through the Bay of Biscay – 35ft waves – but it was marvellous. We saw striped dolphins on the way back.’ E Bayliss, Newton Abbot.

‘I was excited but apprehensive about the [Italian Highlights award].  I thought there would be a catch! European Vacations very helpful, whenever I called with questions prior to the vacation they were answered promptly and truthfully. The holiday was much better than expected, got better every day. My brother was in the navy during the war and was in the Med quite a while and was one of the crew of the HMS Mauritius to visit the Vatican and meet the Pope.
